California Assembly Bill 2098
In the April 18, 2022 episode, Dr. Jeffrey Singer reads from a post by Bhattacharya on Bari Weiss’s Substack site concerning California Assembly Bill 2098, authored by Assemblyman Evan Low. Bob Zadek frames the bill as government inviting itself into the consulting room and monitoring what a physician says to a patient, ready to yank a license for failing to toe the line. The Great Barrington Declaration
Also in the April 18, 2022 episode, Singer describes the origins of the Great Barrington Declaration. He says a group of epidemiologists met in Great Barrington, Massachusetts and authored a statement signed by thousands of medical scientists across the world, including a recent Nobel Prize winner in chemistry. Singer identifies the authors as Jay Bhattacharya of Stanford Medical School, Martin Kulldorff, then at Harvard Medical School, and Sunetra Gupta of Oxford University’s Center for Evidence-Based Medicine Free Speech & the Scientific Method (2022).
Singer says the declaration argued that once more was known about the virus, efforts should focus on protecting the most vulnerable—people with certain immunodeficiencies and elderly people in nursing homes—while allowing the least vulnerable to resume normal life. Paul also says zero healthy children died from COVID-19, though about 140 children in the United States died with COVID while dying from other diseases. He says it is malpractice to vaccinate young people because the risks of the vaccine outweigh the benefits for them, while saying the opposite for those who are significantly overweight or older, at least in 2020 or 2021.
